April 10, 2012 DPC Activity Report
On April 10, 2012, it was a very nice
day of Spring in New York. At 1:30pm, DPC members were gathering in
front of the Chinese General Consulate in New York to protest the
Chinese authorities. This rally was chaired by Chairman of New York
Committee of DPC, Mr. Zhang Jian.
Zhang, Jian said the Western media
reports an event with the rule of keeping objective and justice.
However, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) directly controls the most
Chinese media so that our voice can never be reported. This is why
we come here to have protest monthly in this place. We need to let
the officials in the consulate to hear our voice. Chinese citizens
don’t have the freedom of speech in China. We are here now to
express their voices.
Secretary-General Fu Shenqi spoke the
topic at the protesting rally.
He said the CCP implements the
policies to fool Chinese people. With the rapid growth of
information, people have gradually realized the problems. As what we
know, last week some young people in Guangzhou showed a banner of
requesting the higher CCP officials to report their property
publicly. We are very glad to see the Chinese citizens are awake and
are walking out of horror to request the government officials for the
right of knowing facts. Recently the CCP continues persecuting the
dissidents in many places in China. The famous dissident Ni, Yu Lan
and her husband were both sentenced by the authority.
At this rally, Fu Shenqi reported the
death of Professor Fang, Lizhi, the spiritual guider of June 4th
Movement in 1989. Professor Fang guided his students to openly
think the future view and social problems in China. He also opposed
the surveillance by the CCP in China. On January 6, 1989, he wrote a
public letter to Chinese president Deng, Xiaoping suggesting him to
release the dissident Wei, Jingsheng, etc. What Professor Fang did
then greatly influenced a lot of young students.
President assistant of DPC, Sun Yu and
other party members called the slogans, ‘Finish the one-party
autocracy!’ ‘Build constitutional government and democracy!’,
etc.
